This photo was probably taken in the 1920s. These 1924 buildings replaced an earlier school from 1908. The campus gradually expanded to fill the block from Primrose Avenue to Oak Avenue. It was renamed Longden School in about 1948.

The auditorium at left was the social and cultural heart of Temple City for many years, hosting civic events, school plays and musical performances both amateur and professional. In the 1950s, it was converted into a multi-purpose building that is still in use in 2023.
